Who am I?
I’m Mary Sheely. I’ve written and strategized for 20+ years in nonprofit communications, consumer and B2B advertising, and public relations. Most recently, I was Communications Director for Northwest Center, a Seattle nonprofit serving people with disabilities, where my work included public relations strategy resulting in national media coverage, a website redesign to improve accessibility to the disability community, and an email open rate 10 percent higher than the industry average. But I’m happiest telling the stories of the remarkable people who make up the NWC community, something I’m glad to continue today as part of my work as a freelance writer and creative director.
In my hometown Cincinnati, I was senior copywriter and creative director for B2B agency HSR and consumer advertising firm Northlich, with clients including StarKist, Procter & Gamble, and Wrigley. Since moving to Seattle in 2007, I spent several years at worldwide PR firm Edelman. Current and past clients include Nature’s Path, Starbucks, Microsoft, JCC Chicago, and YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish.
Enough about me. What can I do for you?
